Phase 2 – Housing, Retail and Community Facilities

Proposals for 394 homes, retail units and community facilities were submitted to West Lothian on the 25th May 2011. Located immediately to the north and south of the new station the site comprises a mixture of flats, houses and community/retail/office buildings. The southern part of the application site is accessed from under the new rail bridge.

The northern part of the site will be mainly residential with the community and office buildings and small neighbourhood shops adjacent to the Station.

The southern part of the site is focussed around the new supermarket, Civic Square and High Street. Buildings in this area are mixed use with commercial units at street level.

The completion of the area around the local centre is critical to establishing a high quality of design and construction, which sets a standard for the implementation of the remainder of the masterplan.
