What is Armadale Station

What is Armadale Station?

Armadale Station is a comprehensive redevelopment of a former opencast brownfield site to the south of Armadale, within the Armadale Core Development Area (CDA).

The CDA seeks to create a sustainable community of up to 2,000 houses and 35 hectares of employment land. The development at Armadale Station is focused around the new Bathgate/Airdrie rail link.

The proposal is sustainable in terms of attracting new businesses and encouraging local trade and travel within Armadale. It will also create a real place with a new identity and a long term future.

Armadale Station Local Centre will act as a hub for the community in the south of the town, in the same way as Armadale Cross is a hub for the north of the town.

The Local Centre will include a school, supermarket, variety of small shops, cafes and restaurants and office space for small businesses. It also has aspirations to incorporate a health centre and leisure uses such as a cinema.

Armadale Station has the ingredients to be a development worthy of national acclaim for its quality, vision and deliverability.
