What is Armadale Station?
Armadale Station is a comprehensive redevelopment of former opencast brownfield site to the south of Armadale, within the Armadale Core Development Area (CDA).
The development plan is focused around a new railway serving the proposed Bathgate/Airdrie rail link. The CDA seeks to create a sustainable community of up to 2,000 houses and 35 hectares of employment land.
The proposal is sustainable in terms of attracting new businesses and encouraging local trade and travel within Armadale. It will also create a real place with a new identity and a long term future.
Armadale Station Local Centre will act as a hub for the community in the south of the town, in the same way as Armadale Cross is a hub for the north of the town.
It is anticipated that the Local Centre will include a supermarket, a variety of small shops, office space for small businesses, a health centre, leisure uses, cafes and restaurants and a School.
